The celebrations of the Diwali 2011 took place in the main hall of the Archbishop Lan Franc School during the evening of Saturday 12 November 2011.
An evening when thirteen 'Pride of Vanzas' together with four prominent lady members who have served our organisation for many years were honoured in presence of some 220 people.
The 'inspiring academics' who were honoured are:
- Krishney and Janhavi Ajay Gosai – in appreciation of being awarded the Black/White Stripe Belt in Karate by the British Karate Association Board.
- Bhavin Alpesh Jethwa – in appreciation on receiving cricket trophy from the Trinity Mid Whitgifians Cricket Club in Surrey for ‘Clubman of the Year’.
- Devika Kaushik Jethwa – in appreciation of achieving A* in 11 subjects at GCSE level at the Old palace, Croydon.
- Deven Kaushik Jethwa – in appreciation of being fully qualified pharmacist from the Kings College, London.
- Nishant Praveen Modha – in appreciation of being awarded the degree of M.Pharm(Hon) and of being fully qualified pharmacist from the University of Sunderland.
- Poonam and Hareena Harish Parmar – in appreciation of being awarded Masters degree and degree respectively in Bharat Natyam.
- Minal Dinesh Samant – in appreciation of being awarded honours degree of BSc (Hons) in Mathematics at the University College of London and now studying Acturial Science at the Leicester University.
- Arti Bipin Vaghela – in appreciation of achieving As/A* in 4 subjects in A-Level at the Wallington High School for Girls, Surrey and now reading Mathematics and Philosophy at the University of Bristol.
- Kirti Bipin Vaghela – in appreciation of As/A* in 10 subjects at GCSE level and 2 subjects at AS level in the same year at Tiffin Girls School, Surrey.
- Arjun Jethwa – in appreciation of achieving high grades in more that 12 subjects at GCSE level at Kelsey School.
- Dr Nisha Manojkumar Tank – in appreciation of passing examinations to qualify to be a Member of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons.
The 4 ladies honoured in appreciation of their voluntary service since the inception of our organisation, were:

It was an evening with mixture of joy and tension with meeting & greeting other family members and friends, munching the starters & enjoying the buffet dinner whilst listening to the romantic music. There was a wonderful dance performed by Nimisha, daughter of Alpeshbhai & Meeraben Jethwa. This was followed by all onto the floor to enjoy dancing to the pop music by our DJs continuously for almost an hour or more!
It was an evening that drew the curtain close with five lucky numbers for the winners to be presented with the following raffle prizes and which were sponsored by:
