On Sunday 27 June, VCSL’s 19th AGM at the Archbishop Lanfranc School in Croydon was held with a minute’s silence to respect all our beloved who sadly passed away since our last AGM and where the following office bearers and committee members were re-elected:

Two ex-committee members: Jyotiben Ramesh Bharkhada and Sureshbhai Damji Tank, decided to rejoin the committee and an enthusiastic member, Harishbhai Amratlal Parmar (all the way far from East London) has joined our team. We welcome them all and hope to produce even better and interesting programmes in future.

The Election was so efficiently conducted jointly by Jyotiben Bharkhada, Meeraben Jethwa and Maltiben Vaghela. Our sincere thanks to them. Our appreciation also to Parshottambhai Arjan Jethwa who produced a brief but meaningful report on behalf of the Trustees.

As always, the AGM commenced with the Hingraj Mataji’s Aarti and the afternoon ended with dinner consisting of home-made Rotla, Rotli, Ringle-batata nu shaak, 2 types of Kichdi, Ryitoo, Chhash, Yogurt, Penda, Barfi, Ful-Khaja Rolls and soft yum-yum chocolate/creamy Cakes - all these with compliments from our ladies. Our gratitute to them.

Samuh Bhojan was certainly delicious and very enjoyable. Those who missed this year, can flavour the delight next year!
