The VCSL had a week-end of Raas-Garba and Dandia-Raas programme at the Dance Studio of the Archbishop Lanfrac School in Croydon, Surrey on Saturday evening, 19 September and Sunday afternoon, 20 September 2009. The attendance on both the days was more than last year and we observed the increase in presence of our young Vanzas this year. Many thanks to them for supporting the programme. As most of us are aware, VCSL was formed in South of London to facilitate such programmes for Vanzas south of the river and we are thankful to those who attended the celebrations. The music was absolutely fantastic. Not only did the youngsters enjoy Raas-Garba and Dandia-Raas but our elders as well danced to the tunes set up by the two DJs from the ‘REDCAP FAMILY ENTERTAINERS’.
We also held the Raas-Garba and Dandia-Raas competitions on both the days, giving away Ambe Maa’s murti to the:--

The end to our celebrations of the festival came with a fulfilment of mouth-watering ‘faarari shaak, chevdo, barfi and batata na bhajia’ on the late afternoon of Sunday. We are sure there was a murmur in the D. Studio that we need to extend the number of days for celebrating next year’s Navratri Festival!
We take this opportunity of thanking all those bandhus who during those two days supported us financially as well as in kind. May Hingraj Mataji bless them. The list of the donors and sponsors is produced herewith.
