To kick off the New Year and the Vanza youth committee calendar, Devina and I felt a good old fashioned bowling night was in order. So after getting together with some of the other youngsters, we headed down to Purley Way’s ten-pin bowling on one bitter-cold Saturday evening, in the second week of January 2009, for a bit of light competition. I, being the oldest, thought I’d have no problem showing the younger members, the likes of Nimisha, Kyle and Krishney, exactly how to bowl. My confidence, sadly, was short lived as everyone took great joy in beating me. Over the games I was well and truly defeated whilst Kirti, my youngest sister achieved the highest score!

A few arcade games later, I’d managed to gather my pride and we headed over to Bella Italia to satisfy our hunger. The order came and soon we were all feasting on a selection of Italian specialties pizza and pasta of course whilst laughing over the earlier games.

Overall it was a great evening and it was a joy to see everyone come away with smiles on their faces and new friends too. It was a great start for our Vanza youth events, but I look forward to the future. Watch this space for more!
