The 17th Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday, 18 May 2008, at The Archbishop Lanfranc School, Croydon.
 Soon after the welcome address by the Chairman, presentation ceremony was carried out with the blessings of Hingraj Maa and Guru Gopal Lal. All those with academic achievements during the last two years were honoured in presence of our Vanza bandhus.
The various Reports from the Secretary, Treasurer and Trustees were read and the VCSL’s annual Accounts for 2007, as examined by Shree Rajnibhai R Bharkhada, Chartered Accountant, were discussed, finalised and adopted in the meeting.
The Chairman concluded the meeting with his brief summary of the progress made during 2007, proposed a Vote of Thanks and dissolved the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees.
Proper procedure of the Election was followed by the appointed Chair, Alpeshbhai Purshottam Jethwa, to whom we are thankful. The last Agenda (Any Other Business) was made interesting by having open constructive discussions, on varied related subjects, amongst all who were present. The present Chairman takes this opportunity of conveying his gratitude to Rushinaben Kaushik Jethwa for writing the minutes of the 2008 AGM.
 Soon after the termination of the meeting, followed the celebration of the 8th birthday of Namisha, daughter of Meeraben and Alpeshbhai Purshottam Jethwa, with cutting of lovely, spongy, double-creamed, mouth-watering, cake!
The evening came to an end with everyone enjoying the refreshments consisting of Mumbai-Style Bhel, Mombasa-Style Daal Bhajya, Kisumu-Style Biryani, Gujarati-Style Handwa (Ondwo), Porbunder-Style Halwa and Wembley-Style Roll Khaaja. A variety soft drinks were also poured in style to quench everyone’s thirst.
